The Process

Turning Ideas into Reality: The Art of Precision

  • Envision it.

    It all begins with your unique idea. Whether it’s creating a tailored illustration of your favorite family photo or designing a new nursery piece, I am dedicated to transforming your concept into a design mock-up for approval.

  • Print it.

    Once the final design is fully approved, it’s sent to print on one of my two laser printers. With the precision of a laser printer, the results are nothing short of remarkable. Printing takes anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour, depending on design complexity.

  • Shape it.

    The laser cut artwork is printed with a hard edge. To give it dimension, each piece (no matter how tiny) is shaped with a rotary tool. The pieces are then hand-sanded with various grit sand papers to ensure a smooth finish. This is one of the most time consuming steps - from start to finish, it can be at least 1 hour.

  • Paint it.

    Time to give the piece some more life. Every paint color we use is customized to match the reference image(s) as accurately as possible. This is the most fun yet tedious part and takes anywhere from 1 hour to 4 hours.

  • Assemble it.

    The final pieces fit back together like a puzzle. Before gluing up, they are arranged to ensure a secure fit. I use a super strong glue to adhere each piece and ensure they don’t fall out of place. Glue ups require a lot of time & patience. This final step takes ~30 minutes.

How long will it take to complete my order?

Each project’s timeline varies depending on my current project lineup as well as intricacy of design. My usual turnaround time is 6-8 weeks. Rush orders can be placed for an extra fee, just let me know as soon as possible.

I don’t have 6-8 weeks to wait for my order! Can you do it faster?

My standard turnaround time is 6-8 weeks, depending on project lineup. However, if you need it sooner, please let me know as soon as possible and I can expedite your request for an additional fee.

Can I make design changes after placing my order?

I will work on your design mockup until it is fully approved by you. Once approved and the production process begins, I cannot make any more changes.

What materials do you use on your laser printer?

I use both birch and MDF for all projects.

What can be customized?

Everything. You name it. Paint colors, size, font, etc.. I am happy to make each piece as personalized as possible.

Do you use any sealer to preserve your artwork?

I use a polyurethane spray sealer on each project to protect and prolong the life of each piece.
